I been studying Isshinryu unfortunately off and on but I have met and trained with some of our most outstanding sensei's and am proud to still call myself a Isshinryu practitioner. I started training in Don Nagles Dojo in the heights back in 197??. Had the pleasure of being instructed by Nagle himself, then he started becoming busy and was under the guidance of Dennis Hoare, left and came back several times there. After several years I joined the Bayonne Isshinryu Dojo, and was taken in by Ralph, Frank and Tom. Miss everyone.

I started in 1997, so about 11 years. Since i was only 8 when i started i really didn't think about style. I had a friend that had a friend that was doing it he got my friend to come try it and then he got me and my family to try it. Out of my two brothers and my mother and dad my older borther and i got our black belts. How about you?
Hi Edwin, the dinner was great, next day we had the tournament. I think that there was around 500 competitors. The team fighting was awsome, I believe of the ladies got knocked out, they were fighting tougher than the guys. I was a very long day, I got there around 9:30 am judged the kids and got to compete around 5-6 pm. I was dead tired. kata was good, my fighting??? I wasn't really into by that time of the day, plus I did not train that hard to compete, I focused more on the children's training. I gave it a shot. Bottom line is......you got to train hard if you want to win. simple. I had fun, the kids from our dojo did great. we had a 16 yr. old girl took grand champion her division, few first place and 2nd and 3rd as well. they all did great, very proud of our kids. sorry you mised it. anyways, good to hear from you again. talk to you soon. take care
